A Quick Lesson in Inductive-style Teaching
These Bible Studies teach Biblical perspectives
on basic discipleship issues from a Vineyard perspective. They are meant
to be used in a small group inductive bible study; they
all include leader notes for that purpose. Inductive simply means that
a group leader begins with a scripture, and uses questions to guide
a group through the text to it’s meaning
in their present day lives. Inductive study is beneficial because people
learn the process of personal Bible Study, which is key to personal
discipleship and spiritual maturity!
A Quick Lesson in Inductive-style Teaching
- Pre-view: Determine the context of the passage that
you’re studying. (What is actually going on here? Who’s
writing? To whom? In what cultural situation?)
- The-view: Interpret the meaning for the original audience.
(What is the original author telling the original audience?)
- God’s-view for me: Apply God's truth to our lives,
and respond to that truth appropriately. (What is the Holy Spirit teaching
me, in my current life situation, through this text? What do I need
to do about what I’m learning?)
